Hello, I want to share my US visa Biometric and interview experience at Mumbai location so that people who have appointments for both can be apprised with the facility and amenities there because I was also very panic about the things but after going through some comments by some noble people ,it helped me a lot. Both places are very good location, both location have all amenities- mobile and small things can be kept on charge VAC (500), COSULATE (100) Rs. Both centers have wash rooms and drinking water facilities. For Biometric you have to carry only 1. DS -160 ( Updated if it's one year old) 2. Passport 3. Appointments confirmation page. Nothing else. For Interview Passport and supporting documents ( but nobody asks for it) I was having Biometric on 30th September 2025 & Interview on 3rd October 2025. All the staff at Both centers are much cooperative and they will guide everything Nothing to worry, Hatsoff to those persons and agencies who have made such nice arrangements. COUSULAR are also very good and try to understand the fact for which visa is demanding. So in nut shell Nothing to worry .Thanks.

US Visa Facilitation is well planned. Some things to remember when you go here 1) Please reach here atleast 30 mins prior as the security will call you by your time slot. When you reach ask the security where to stand and wait exactly because you will see people standing in many roads and corners (May be companions, family or drivers) Don't get confused 2) For people who coming from afar you have a metro option to reach BKC it's the same line as the Airport Metro (Aqua Line) 3) Rainy seasons please carry umbrella as there is no shade to stand outside the building. There are people selling umbrella for 300Rs. 4) The security calls you by the time slot and takes you to the actual line which goes into the embassy. They verify the DS-160 and the stamp behind the passport 5) Bring only the appointment confirmation and DS-160 form and your passport (Seaman's book if Seaman). A File folder is allowed inside nothing else. No phones and smart watches are allowed and ladies can carry a hand purse. Big lockers are not available here. A place to put your phone or digital watch RFID Purse extra are available before entering. 100Rs. for the locker for 2 Items anything extra will be charged 50 per piece. 6) Once you are inside they will have a security check and after that they will place you in queue for the interview, the queue will take you about 30 mins to an hour to reach the interviewer.

US Visa consulate is well planned. However their is no place for visitors or family to wait. U have to wait on the opposite road side. Some things to remember when you go here 1) Reach here atleast 30 mins prior as the security will call you by your time slot. 2) u have a metro option to reach BKC it's the same line as the Airport Metro (Aqua Line) and easy access to and from Kurla railway station- local station 3. Umbrella of a certain size mentioned in the allowable list at consulate is mentioned. A place to put your phone, car key or digital watch are available before entering. 100Rs. for the locker .its a small rack, can't have big stuff for storing. 6.Interview Waiting queues take 1 -1.5 hrs. U have option to go for interview in different languages even though if u have mentioned english. 7.Car parking is approx. 100m from the consulate. Keep all ur stuff including ur mobile inside and u can leave the car key at the parking counter. The parking is well managed.

Hope this helps anyone preparing for their visit. Reading other people’s experiences really helped me plan mine and took a lot of the stress away. Honestly, the whole process is quite smooth and well-managed. There’s paid parking close by, which is convenient, and from there it’s just a short walk to the consulate. It’s best to reach at least 30 minutes before your appointment and wait in the queue. Security will guide people inside according to their time slot. Hand purses are allowed, but be sure to read the consulate’s list of permitted items. It’s better to avoid carrying electronic or digital devices. They do have a small open locker area for phones or car keys at ₹50 per item (cash/UPI). A transparent folder with your passport and any required papers works best. After a thorough security check, staff will verify your DS-160 and the stamp behind your passport, and then direct you to the waiting area. From there, they call people in batches and take you to the interview hall. The interview wait time can be 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the crowd. There are many interview counters, and interpreters for regional Indian languages are available. The interview duration varies, but for us it lasted around 5 minutes. The visa officer was professional and courteous. They will convey the decision immediately, after which you exit the consulate. Facilities like washrooms, drinking water, and a small snack kiosk are available inside. which is helpful if you’re waiting a while. Overall, the staff are cooperative and guide you through every step. Good luck with your application!

Our Pleasant experience at US Consulate Mumbai. Our B1B2 visa interview date was 25th Aug 25 at 7.50 am We went one day before and stayed at Sofitel Hotel. Those who are coming out of Mumbai this is best and very good ambiance and food hotel. It is hardly 2 minutes walk to Consulate . We went there at 7.15 am and found very big Q. We stand out side main gate in Q in heavy rain for 15 minutes. At main gate staff checked our current passport for Bio metric sticker and allow us to go inside. Pl note you can go with blazer Sweater. No formal dress required. You can carry with you only document folder and purse and umbrella only. Do not carry any laptop . Bag, digital watch . Inside washroom drinking water facility available before interview and after interview. There are multiple check of our passport. And like airport deep frisking and docs screening will done inside. Then we proceed to main hall. At one window check our fingerprints. Then proceed to our language Q . There are English Marathi Hindi Gujarati translators available. Other languages you need to check there it self. If available ok other wise you can go for English Q. All staff right from entry gate till interview window are Indian staff and very cordial and helpful. These staff speak Hindi Marathi English. Once we reach at interview window there was American lady staff with Marathi translator. They have asked few questions like why you are going to US who is there what you are doing here who are members at your home etc. Interview last long for hardly 3-4 minutes and we heard word ‘Your visa is approved and you may go now’ Wow . They kept our current passport with them . Total period right from main gate to exit gate was about 1 hour. Out of which interview was in 3-4 minutes only. Be confident at interview and do not take any tension. Very cordial environment. They will ask questions about what we know that’s all. No out of syllabus question will ask. We observed that all people after interview going hap

Today, my daughter and I had a visa interview appointment at 7:30 AM, but we reached by 6:30 AM. Around 6:35 AM, we were already in the queue. There are two queues—one for immigration visas and one for other visas. At the first checkpoint, they check your passport. After that comes security screening, where electronic items and unnecessary gadgets or purses are not allowed. If you have keys, there is a counter inside to deposit them. Since I didn’t carry anything with me, I cleared security easily. After security, fingerprints and the interview are done as per your language preference. The whole process is very easy and convenient. I joined the queue at 6:30 AM and was out by around 7:40 AM. All the staff are very helpful and do their best. Please support them and don’t get irritated. I noticed that there were more than 60 people in one slot, and it’s not easy for anyone to manage such a crowd. There is a water and tea counter, I believe, though I didn’t use it. A seating area is available, especially for elderly people, and the staff are very gentle. The interviewer was also very calm and asked only what was required. You only need your passport until you reach the interview counter.
